- The Mid-State Airport has agreed to let us use the facility for the Poker Run. We will need to cut wood for the day of the Poker Run to use at the airport and all stops.
- Kevin needs to talk to Stacey for the possible routes allowed this year. The reason for this is because there are three exploratory wells going to be dug on Hannah Furnace this winter.
- All club members agreed to keep the same food items for sale at the Poker Run. The deep fryer will be available and we will be doing pre-cut fries this year.
- Kevin is looking for volunteers to man the stops at the Poker Run. Tom & Justin will do a stop for a half day. Blake is available to do his stop at this camp. Suzie & Delbert will also man a stop. - The No Snow Date for the Poker Run has been changed to February 21, 2009.
- Kevin reported that the Airport Authority gave the club oral permission to use the Mid-State Airport for the Poker Run in 2009. The Airport Authority is to mail a letter providing written permission.
- In our December meeting, we will discuss the 2009 Poker Run details. Kevin is looking for new ideas. The group tossed around some different ideas for the next poker run to help keep people interested and possibly get more members.
- One idea shared was to place all new members into a separate drawing. The club needs to decide what the winner of the drawing will receive at the next meeting.
- Kevin reported that the North side of Renova trail system is looking better. There is a hold up with the sale of a piece of land currently owned by Joe K. Elizabeth Lynch did a tax assessment of the piece of land and classified the land as wasteland. The club needs this piece of land to continue the one section of the trail system. The owner and potential buyer of the piece of land are both willing to work with our club by selling us the piece of land. Once the club is in possession of the land, the boro will accept the land as a donation and the land will be designated as a snowmobile trail on all documents. Forestry will maintain the trail. Hyner snowmobile club has agreed to help us out financially to purchase the piece of land.
- The Little McCloskey trail is also getting closer to finalization. We don't expect to be ready to work on this trail until next year.
- Some more trail cleaning needs done in Black Moshannon. Only some minor cleanup is needed. Since it is getting late into the year, we will not hold any more trail cleanings. We ask that members and all snowmobilers take time when the season begins to stop and throw off any debris. Kevin reported all trails are mowed except behind the old Black Moshannon Family Restaurant.
- Stacey from DCNR is supposed to order a heater core for the club groomer.
- Smays Run - nothing has been done with the reconstruction of the Smays Run trail. Money has been set aside for this project. DCNR will be working on this trail to improve it for snowmobiling purposes.
- Tom reported that there will be a public meeting on November 5th from 2:30 - 5:00 pm at the Bald Eagle State Park Environmental Learning Center. Kevin & Tom will be attending. The meeting is being held to get input on the future direction of forestry.
- DCNR has changed the North Run trail. They have made it wider for the groomer and it no longer follows the old trail. Because of this change, the Dry Hollow trail is now closed. Dry Hollow trail is the trail leading to the old ski slope. Also as a reminder, Short Trail is no longer a snowmobile trail.
- DCNR sent a letter and Poker Run Registration form to Tom Evock. The club members agreed to use the new form for the Poker Run Registration. Poker Run participants will be required to provide the Registration number, make, and model of the sled which will be ridden in the poker run. This will be required at the time the person registers for the Poker Run.
- Next meeting will be held on December 7th at 7:00 pm at the YMCA Annex in Bellefonte.

- Kevin met with Ted L. of Sproul State Forest on July 25.
Renova - North Side Trail Development Update:
Joe C. has some property on the side of the mountain which the club will need to talk to him regarding purchasing. Kevin has spoke to the Hyner Snowmobile club and they have agreed to help us with purchasing the property. Once the property is purchased, we will turn it over to the township entity. From there it will be designated as a snowmobile trail and the State will pay to build the trail. This piece of property will give us access to Bill Charles' property which there will be an easement for the State to build a trail into Renova.
Renova - South Side Trail Development Update:
The Little McCloskey trail is waiting approval from the State for a trail to be built. There has been a submittal of information to the State along with pictures taken of a snake habitat. Kevin needs to walk the upper end of the trail some Saturday or Sunday. Please let Kevin know if you would like to walk it with him.
- Members voted to have Kevin approach the gas company to get approval to ride the gas lines.
- Summer Fest 2008 - The club participated in the summer festival by selling food from the concession trailer. The club profited $637.30 from the two day event. We will plan on participating in the summer festival next year as well. We will also work on developing a bicycle poker run to be held during the summer festival.
- Jason Albright has approved the potential poker run dates for 2009. The Poker Run is being planned for Saturday, January 31, 2009 with a No Snow Date of February 14, 2009.
- Some discussion was held about DCNR wanting the club to verify poker run participants have valid snowmobile insurance during the poker run registration. Most members feel there are legality issues about us performing this task. Tom E. will contact Mike Hannah's office to get some input on the issue.

- Kevin still has some Internation Council of Snowmobile calendars available. The cost is $20.00 per calendar. See Kevin if interested.
- On November 13, Kevin & Tom had a meeting with DCNR. The outcome of the meeting is that we are losing some trails in Black Moshannon. DCNR has stated that if they cannot groom the trail, it will no longer be considered a snowmobile trail. We will no longer be able to ride on the following trails:
- Short Trail
- Dry Hollow
- Turkey Trail
- All gas lines
- There was some discussion regarding the "old" groomer. The contract states that we are solely responsible for all maintenance and repairs. Tom spoke to Stacy about this issue and it is his understanding that the groomer is DCNR's machine. DCNR will maintain the groomer and repairs, but the contract wording will not be changed. We will also be allowed to groom at night and keep the groomer out over night. We will get reimbursed up to $1500 for costs the club incurs as long as receipts are submitted to DCNR. DCNR is awaiting stickers for the doors and then Stacy will hold a meeting with club operators to review the groomer operation and procedures.
- An emergency plan was discussed for times when club members are operating the groomer. There will be 2 people in the groomer. A log book will be in the groomer and the operator is responsible for noting where he groomed and the number of miles groomed.
- We are only allowed to groom designated areas: Huckleberry Trail, part of Huckleberry Road, Benner Run Road, North Run Road, North Run Trail, Beaver Meadows Trail, Smays Run Trail, Underwood Road, and Stage Coach Trail.
- An additional $133 will need to be added to the insurance cost to cover operating of the groomer and the poker run.
- Kevin is going to contact Jason Albright of DCNR for a copy of the contract for the gas lines. Kevin will review this contract and try to negotiate trail riding privileges with the gas company as long as the contract has no specifically written statements which would prohibit snowmobile use on gas lines.
- Club took a vote on having a fundraiser to help the club. Once club insurance is paid, our club funds will be very low. All agreed on the fundraiser and some suggestions were made to sell Sheetz tickets, have a ham sandwich sale, and have a poker run donation box set up at the poker run. No final decisions were made on what to have as a fundraiser.
- There was some discussion about the poker run. The club will be doing the cooking. Kevin has contacted the MoValley EMS and the State Police. The Civil Air patrol will be assisting us again this year. Kevin needs to contact some dealers. Paul Gunns will be having the vintage show. Kevin also asked club members for help on the Friday before the Poker Run. The club will also need to do some airport cleaning prior to the poker run. Some discussion also revolved around ideas for food this year. No final decisions on what food to serve were made.
- Next meeting scheduled for Sunday, January 6 at 7:00 PM at Bellefonte YMCA Annex
- Club meeting ended at 8:00 PM.

- The Safety Course in October had 9 students (7 kids/2 adults). It was held at Best Line Equipment.
- PSSA still has Snow Angel money available. If club members know of any kids under age 18 who need help, please let Kevin know. PSSA gives up to $500.
- There was supposed to be a Trail Cleaning in Northern Renova. This will not be happening until spring. Elizabeth Lynth of PA Cleanways of Clinton County is trying to get DCNR equipment to help with the cleanup. In order for this to happen, she needs to have a letter from Harrisburg giving permission to use State equipment on private property.
- The club has 5 new club members - welcome to our new members.
- Parker Dam will have their Winter Fest on January 26 & 27.
- Club members need to start thinking about who wants to do stops for the Poker Run. Kevin needs to know if you can work a stop all day or if you want to do a 4 hour shift. The Civil Air Patrol will be doing the Road Crossings and helping with Parking. Kevin will contact PA State Police to let them know we will be having a Poker Run. Discussion of which vendors we need to contact was reviewed. We will also be able to use Harpster's for Parking.
- Kevin has been invited to a Friends of BlackMo meeting. He got the club's approval and guarantee that members will help with the summer festival. The club has been tossing around the idea of selling food at the summer fest to help bring in some revenue.

- November 18 at 9 AM - Clean UP Scheduled. Meet at the Fogleman camp. There are a few spots which need brushed out in order for the new groomer to make it through some areas. The new groomer needs clearance for a height of 15 feet and a width of 12 feet. We plan on working on Shields Dam Trail and Smay Run Trail.
- Next Meeting is December 2 at 7PM. It will be held at the YMCA Annex in Bellefonte.

The Club meeting started at 7:00 PM. There were 11 club members present.
- The dates for Poker Run 2008 were set.
- Saturday, February 2, 2008 is the Poker Run date and
- Saturday, February 9, 2008 is the NO SNOW DATE.
- It was also noted that the Poker Run registration and activities will be held at the Mid-State Airport.
- Kevin mentioned the importance of selecting the Poker Run date so far in advance is because DCNR needs a written letter from the Club requesting permission to use Forestry property for the Poker Run. This must be done at least 2 months prior to the Poker Run.
- The club passed the notion to donate a weekend at the Black Moshannon Lodge for the PSSA giveaway for the show this Fall.
- DCNR received a new groomer this past spring (April). It is a New Holland TS115. DCNR will be operating the groomer this winter and will be widening some trails in preparation for grooming.
- Tom Evock reported his converstion with Stacy Flick regarding th "old" groomer. The old groomer will stay in Black Moshannon. Jason Albright and Matt Beaver are working on an agreement which will allow the groomer to be run by certified operators who are members of the Club. The groomer will continue to be owned by Forestry, but the certified operators will be permitted to operate the groomer. We will also be permitted to use State fuel supplies. More details will be provided once the agreement has been approved.
- The club approved the additional insurance cost needed for liability coverage for groomer operators.
- October 27, a groomer class will be held from 9:00 - 3:30 in Emporium. The class is free but you must be pre-registered. The club currently has 4 members registered to attend the class. Kevin wants to know if anyone else would be interested. He cannot guarantee a spot in the class, but if there is available space you will be able to attend. The club currently has 3 members who have taken the groomer class and are certified to operate the groomer.
- Reminder was made that October 12-14 is the York Show
- Kevin stated that the law is changing for 2008 regarding filing status with the IRS. The club does not have to file with the state each year because it make under $25,000. The new law requires the Club to file a 99N each year regardless of the amount of money the club raises. All filing must be done via the internet.
- A club picnic will be held on September 23 at 12:30 pm in Black Moshannon State Park at the Beach Pavilion. Members must RSVP to Jeanine by September 19 by phone (814-342-7359) or email. The club will provide drinks, hot dogs for kids, and a main dish of pulled pork. All members who attend are asked to bring a covered dish to share.
- A trail cleaning is scheduled for Saturday, September 22. All members are asked to meet at the Fogleman camp at 8:00 am.
- There may be an additional trail cleaning scheduled this Fall for the Hyner area. This trail cleaning is to help with the connector trails we are trying to get so we can ride to that area from Black Moshannon. Elizabeth Lynch of Cleanwater Act is coordinating the event. Kevin will know the date by Sept 13. Kevin is also going to try and get some Hyner Club members to help out when he attends their club meeting on Sept 15.
- Kevin reported that Ted Laginsa told him the grant for the Little McCloskey trail is looking good. They are waiting for the money and approval.
- Kevin asked for club members to attend the Rush Township meeting on Thursday, September 13 at 7:00 PM in Philipsburg. This request is because the Rush Township supervisors are trying to take away part of our trail system by replacing Huckleberry Road and Myer Run Road with paved roads for the ever-so-popular Dump. Their new proposal will allow trucks to come out Route 504, turn onto McCord Road (which will be widened to 40'), and cut across Forestry and our trail system to Huckleberry Road. Please come and support our efforts to express our disagreement with their notion.
- The Parker Dam Poker run is Janaury 26-27.
- There is Snow Angel money available. If you know any children 18 years of age and younger who could use the money for medical needs or any hardships, please contact Kevin.
- Club members agreed to the notion of participating in the Black Moshannon Summer Festival by selling food from the concession trailer. All agreed this would be a good fund raiser for the club and would give the club some publicity to the non-snowmobiling community.
- Tom noted that Stacy Flick informed him that DCNR acquired 1000 acres of property behind the East Bound Rest Area off the Snow Shoe exit. This would eventually provide us a legal trail to the Truck Stop in Snow Shoe. We would just need to work with Penn DOT for legal crossing of the Bridge. This would take the Govenors Road (10 mile) out of play for snowmobilers and also allow access to Snow Shoe without having to ride on State Game Lands. Stacy said that hopefully there would be a viable trial in the next two years.
- Kevin discussed the possibility of the Club purchasing a 2 acre piece of property that would be donated back to DCNR with an agreement that the land would be used for snowmobiling purposes to provide a trail from the Charles property to Boone Road and thus allowing access to Renova. The individual who owns the property does not want to work with the state; therefore, if the club purchased the property it would eliminate the state from the equation. The 2 acre piece of land is nothing but a mountain side, but DCNR has already agreed to doze the land and make a trail for snowmobiling. This would be another piece of the puzzle for our connector trails to the North. Kevin will provide additional details as things progress.
- Two members of our club have snowmobiles for sale. Please see the Home Page of the site for details and contact numbers for these sleds.
